If You Could Reduce Price while Improving Margins, Would You?

A very interesting development, one that reminds me of Amazon’s Kindle Fire strategy. Fork an “open source” OS and create the experience your customers want.
By putting linux on an ultra book, Dell has a winner. Not one that has a huge market right now, but I hope they see the longer term strategy here.
This could make Dell more competitive with Apple, and create an experience that makes it easier for people (consumers) to adopt Linux. And, if we’re lucky, it’s another crack in Microsoft’s stranglehold on desktop computing innovation.
