The speaker was Dr. Werner Vogels (Vice President & Chief Technology Officer), you might try to find him in the cloud and ask him. Sorry I can't be more specific. I do believe there is lots and lots of opportunity in this area though, and if I weren't so happily employed (that's the standard disclaimer required by <a href="http://www.actional.com" rel="nofollow">Progress</a>) I would consider consulting in this area, and figuring out a way to take a percentage of the money I save clients.
